Ashley Woodson Walters, PhD, Diversity Database Specialist for the Women of Color in Engineering Collaborative

Ashley Woodson Walters (she/her/hers)  loves solving problems that stand in the way of justice. Her research explores race theory, Black kids' philosophies of freedom, and catalysts for civic engagement. Dr. Woodson is a sociologist and mixed-methods ethnographer, supporting theory construction for National Science Foundation-funded projects including the Black EpiSTEMologies Research Project and the Designing Equity by Teaching Mathematics project. Past projects have been funded by the Spencer Foundation and Mellon Foundation. Dr. Woodson earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at Michigan State University.
