About

In 1915, thirty enterprising papermakers gathered together determined to form a new technical arm of the American Paper & Pulp Association (APPA). Their idea was to gather and disseminate information concerning matters which have to do with production. This forward thinking group wanted to create a forum where information could be channeled and ideas could be exchanged. In less than a year, TAPPI was born and more than 100 years later, their formula for success continues to work.

TAPPI fosters the vitality of the global forest products, pulp, paper, tissue, packaging, and associated industries by delivering unsurpassed technical knowledge, valuable networks, and professional growth for our members.

Vision

TAPPI is and will continue be the International Center of Excellence for the forest products, pulp, paper, packaging and related industries.

Funded by the National Science Foundation Inclusion across the Nation of Communities of Learners of Underrepresented Discoverers in Engineering and Science Program, Awards 2040634 and 2310386, the Women of Color in Engineering Collaborative (WCEC) is a partnership network of professional engineering associations, STEM-based companies, and higher education institutions dedicated to addressing systemic barriers that prohibit equitable work environments for women engineers of color. Through the WCEC, partner organizations will better leverage their resources to promote systemic change while working collectively to decrease the barriers that lead to the attrition of women engineers of color.
